I find the below stories meaningful and funny.

============================

Story 1
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up hershower, when the doorbell rings.

The wife quickly wraps herself ! in a towel and runs downstairs.

When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour.

Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.' After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked infront of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.

When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?'

'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies..

'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?'

Moral of the story:
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Story 2
A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident.

After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'

The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.'

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look u! p Psalm 129.

It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.'

Moral of the story:
If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a greatopportunity.

Story 3
A sales rep! , an administration clerk, and the manager are walking tolunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out.The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.''Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. '

I want to be in the Bahamas ,driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.'Puff! She's gone.

'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxingon the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladasand the love of my life.'

Puff! He's gone.

'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'

Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say.

Story 4
An eagle was sitting on a tree! resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of asudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Story 5
A turkey was chatting with a bull. 'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey,'but I haven't got the energy.

''Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.'

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enoughstrength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top ofthe tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:
Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there

Story 6
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the birdfroze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cowdung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is yourfriend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keepyour mouth shut!

My Work

Posted by Vincent

Work Work

It has been a long time since I worked overtime for my job. I went back to work on Saturday and worked for a total of 14 hrs. Then on Monday and Tuesday, I also worked overtime, clocking 14 hr and 14.5 hrs each.

The feeling is tiring, but my mind was filled with money cashing in. I am not lying. On Tuesday, one of my colleagues wanted to give up around 10.10pm and my inner thought was, “hmm, we should work till 11pm so that I can claim one more hour of OT pay”.

Now my only concern is that I might get off-in-lieu instead of OT pay. That will almost defeat my purpose.

I wonder if there will be OT today.

Weird day

Have you ever thought of a day which you might lose your wallet and everything is lost?

Hence I have always separated the items in my wallet to an external cardholder. I have IC in my wallet, and 11B (Army ID) in my cardholder.

My bank A debit card in my cardholder and bank B debit card in my wallet. This is to ensure that I won’t lose everything if either one went missing. To ensure survivability, I kept small amount of cash in my cardholder for emergency.

Then came the day my prophecy came true. I left my wallet on my office table and went for lunch. Upon ordering of food, I realized my wallet missing. I panicked for a second before I remember I have an emergency card holder, my savior.

Back in the office, I retrieved my wallet and immediately reimburse the cash amount in my cardholder.

After my OT, I took a cab home and wanted to pay the driver a $50 notes. He said he had no change, flaunting multiple $50 notes in front of me (luckily I am not a robber. After searching my wallet, I realized I also do not have enough small notes in my wallet. I asked if he had nets machine, he said “no”. Then came my savior again. With it, I managed to gather $18, just enough to pay for my $17.60 cab fare (which I am going to claim from ah gong, my company).

I was saved twice by my cardholder, my emergency purse… the power of contingency plan. That somehow made me feel great as the mechanism put in place actually works.

I am smoking

Posted by Vincent

After reading the article found below, i realised i am actually smoking 1-10 cigarettes per day and my chance to die prematurely is great =)

=====================================

Source - Yahoo News

PARIS (AFP) - - Simply being overweight, but not obese, from an early age boosts the risk of premature death by a third -- as much as smoking up to 10 cigarettes a day, researchers in Sweden reported Wednesday.

People who are clinically obese by the age of 18 more than double that risk, putting themselves in the same danger zone as long-term heavy smokers of normal weight, they found.

And combining the two factors accumulates the risk: an obese heavy smoker, for example, is nearly five times as likely to die prematurely than a non-smoker who is neither too thin nor too fat.

At least a billion people in the world are overweight, and nearly a third of them are obese, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). Obesity rates have soared over the last three decades, especially among children.

Earlier studies have shown that being excessively fat shortens lifespan and leads to increased rates of chronic disease such as diabetes and arteriosclerosis.

But researchers have disagreed sharply up to now on whether being above ideal weight without crossing the line to obesity takes years off one's life.

Nor have previous studies directly compared the impact on mortality of smoking and excess weight.

The study designed by Martin Neovius of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm goes a long way to settling the debate, and shows clearly for the first time that being too heavy can be as dangerous as smoking a couple of packs a day.

Neovius and colleagues analysed data for 45,000 men who underwent mandatory military conscription tests in Sweden in 1969 and 1970 at the age of 18.

Data included participants' smoking habits, and their body-mass index (BMI) -- weight in kilogrammes divided by the square of one's height in meters.

A BMI of 25-to-30 indicates being overweight, while above 30 means one is obese. The range of normal weight is 18.5-to-24.9.

The follow up period was, on average, 38 years. During that time, 2,897 subjects died.

The lowest death rate, as expected, was among non-smokers of normal weight. But researchers were surprised to find that being obese carried a greater risk of premature death than being a heavy smoker.

Even more startling, however, were the dangers of being overweight.

"What we show is that for the overweight, there is a significantly increased risk of premature death, similar to smoking one-to-ten cigarettes a day," said Neovius in a phone interview.

Two key studies in the United States -- one at the Center for Disease Control and the famous Nurses' Health Study at Harvard -- had arrived at opposite conclusions on this question.

"Our results confirm the Harvard findings," said Neovius, whose research was published in the British Medical Journal.

The two studies are highly complementary, he added. "We find exactly the same in men and they did in women," erasing any doubts as to possible differences across the sexes.

The Swedish study did find, however, that being severely underweight -- a BMI of under 17 -- carried about the same risk of early death as being overweight or a light smoker.

Policy makers should take note of these results, and increase awareness of the risks related to being too fat, or too thin, Neovius said.

"Anti-smoking campaigns have been very successful. But we don't have any good preventative programmes for overweight and obesity," he said of Sweden, adding that the situation elsewhere is comparable.

Animal Abuse

Posted by Vincent

Yesterday my house had some unexpected visitors and it seems that they are here to stay for a couple of year most probably. Rodents, yes and a family of 5!

My sis took some newspaper to lie on a corner of the living room which I thought she was up to no good. Then I saw a cage, and I was damn surprised she would burden herself with “animal abuse”.

She took home a cage of 5 hamsters and I almost fainted. Not in fear of the cute little animals, but in fear of me carrying the responsibility to look after 5 lives.

I shouted “Animal Abuse ah!” as I always felt keeping animals in cage is seriously depriving them of freedom. Freedom to see the world and enjoy what life provides. Of course logically we can’t keep them without caging them, but I would rather watch them in videos, photos or otherwise.

I would never want to be caged. Would you imagine for the next 20-30 years, you will be living in a small room, walking just from left to right? Eating things that you might not want, but without choice?

If you have wings to fly, but were never allow to use it, how would you feel? Well, it is of course my personal view, and my apology to all pet owners, no offense. Personally, I won’t keep a pet, unless they can be reasoned, think, behave and act like human do… I think there is none =)

Good luck to my sister, and hope those 5 hamsters don’t hurt each other. Yesterday I have already heard plenty of bickering noises and this morning they separate themselves into warring factions. I wonder who the gang leader is and who the victim is.

Incoming

Posted by Vincent

Recently I am still in the midst of searching for a HDB flat and will probably restart my effort to look for better job prospect.

I have revamped my web site, my pricing scheme, my contract and documents. Though they are some imperfection, however none are extremely critical at this point. Things can stay that way for a couple of weeks before I have the time to start bitchin’ on it again.

I am also very honored to be able to join EOY’s organizing team for EOY 09. I will be helping a little on design adjustment and minor details. It is a pretty exciting and major project to work in.

That’s all for this entry. See ya

Blog Problem

Posted by Vincent

Previously part of the user interface images of my blog template have broken links. This was due to the designer's photobucket account being overloaded.

At that point, i could not afford time to fix my blog till today. Thus my blog was temporary closed from viewing.

Now my blog should be back and running again. This time, i took over the control of the UI images and made some minor adjustment.

View the top banner, and it won't be hard to find out that i have added the v-day text.

Enough about my blog. Recently i am pretty busy with house searching and financial planning for my own family-to-be. Many unwanted problems deviated my plans and i am pretty frustrated at times.

More to look forward

Posted by Vincent

Today wasn't a happy day for me in the morning because of rubbish crap.

In the late noon, i met up with XY to have some discussion. we chat alot and thanks to Estee's magazine, i grewth more interest and looking more forward to plan our wedding.

Now that we made some simple budgeting, i came to terms with the amount of cash required. A heavy sum, and will need more painful sacrifice from both of us.

I will also need to do some serious workout for the possible photoshoot.

Till then i have more planning and actions to keep up with.

Major Update

Posted by Vincent

Since it is Year 2009, i have decided to do a site revamp. Yup, it is another blog template design by some stranger whom i probably won't even meet.

However, this is the best template i have implemented so far. Good thing is now everyone can leave a comment on the blog entry, previously locked. Hopefully i get to see some comments when i wrote so controvesy stuffs that not everyone will agree on.

The width of the blog entry is also pretty much nicer. Previously was pretty small and i had to ignore the restrictions and uploaded out of range photos. Kudos to the designer. He/she has a credit link at the bottom of my blog.

=====================================

Today i went for Tim's wedding. It is a beautiful wedding with lots of gorgeous people, talented people and maybe a few fat people like me.

Tim and wife were prefect, each made fantastic speeches. I am amazed at how calm & "zhai" Tim can be during his vow. Great Job~

Was a pity i didn't bring my camera, well it's battery is still dead after the battle during EOY. I never did bother to recharge it. Guess it is time to get it up for uncertainty time.

During the wedding, there was a girl, Joey (a lolita), Tim's employee, who presented the newly-wed couple two beautiful songs. Her voice was amazing, charming and mesmerizing. I saw much of the guys around me were all swept apart by her voice. I never thought i would enjoy hearing opera style singing, but coupled with her lovely face, it is totally enjoying.

In some wedding dinner, the guests normally pays more attention to the food than to the performer, but she was exceptionally captivating. Some performancers totally wheck weddings, she made the wedding much more interesting.

Just a side note, she caught my attention way before her marvellous performance. She is one of the prettier lolita around.

Today i also saw in person, Mingfa's fiancee and Bob's girlfriend. Those two guys are very xinfu too =)

After the event, i went lan gaming with Roy. Was fun even though i lost the match. It proves i am not good with every hero. My range of heroes that i am comfortable with is rather shallow. I am alittle too overconfident to use -random command. LOL

That's all for Tim's wedding. I wished i can have mine too... not yet, mada mada ne

Oh before i forgot, Tim and Ling's wedding photos are so well taken, and i can't find a suitable word to put. ICHIBAN

==================================

Now i am blogging in the dark, alone in my room, listening to light music. I feel so relaxed... I guess i do love some space for privacy. In my future new house, i would also create a relaxing study room in case me or her needed some privacy.

Till next time blog.

Yr 2009

Posted by Vincent

Year 2009

I longer have internet access at my workplace, hence i be blogging less as a result.

Here to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

I am currently learning to use Maya for 3D modelling. Hope i can pick it up real quick. It's quite fun for a start, but it gets intimidating when there are simply so much to learn.
